A blue tube top, cut-off bleached jean shorts, or blue jeans, open-toed clear plastic sandals, and possibly a sweater tied around her waist. |
Medical: |
At the time of her disappearance, Audrey was suffering from hebephrenic schizophrenia. From 1975 to 1977, Nerenberg was hospitalized in several New York City psychiatric facilities. She is in need of medication. |
Circumstances of Disappearance: |
Unknown. Her photos are shown age-progressed to 45 and 53 years, respectively. Nerenberg was last seen leaving her family's home in Brooklyn, New York on July 15, 1977. She did not carry any identification or medication with her at the time she was last seen. Audrey had sometimes gotten lost close to home but always had the presence of mind to call her father for help. She may be listed as an unknown patient ("Jane Doe") in a psychiatric hospital somewhere. Extensive inquiries into New York hospitals by the New York Police Department have been futile. Her whereabouts are unknown and her case remains unsolved. |
