Michael Keith MooreUnknown. Cooke was on winter vacation from Mesa Junior College in San Diego, California, visiting her parents' home in the Northlake subdivision of Georgetown, Texas. She was last seen by her family at 8:00 a.m. on January 10, 2002 when her mother left for work. Cooke was still asleep. She departed from her family's residence for her daily four-mile run during the morning hours, after her mother left. She is believed to have started her run at around 9:30 a.m. She was last seen between 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. near Neches Trail, which is just 100-200 yards from her family home. She has never been heard from again. In August of 2006, Michael Keith Moore (photo at right) confessed to Cooke's murder. He stated that he attacked Cooke while jogging. He was already in custody for a separate murder, and later reneged on his confession that he murdered Cook. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance due to the circumstances involved.
