Samuel Esay Garcia-CallesClick here to print a flyer for both the Garcia-Calles childrenUnknown. Oscar and his brother Samuel Esay Garcia-Calles (photo at right) grew up in El Salvador. Their mother came to the United States on a work visa, leaving them in the care of an aunt. Their mother continued to support them and remained in contact with them. Their aunt reported them missing to both their mother and to El Salvadorean police in August of 2008, thinking they had run away. In January 2009 their mother got a ransom call from an unknown man. After paying the ransom, their mother never heard from the man again. Police believe that the boys arranged for someone to transport them to the United States so that they could reunite with their mother, who lives in Green Brook. No one knows if they actually made it to the United States or to Mexico. They could be in New York, California, or Florida. Both boys may have their school identification cards on them. Both children have close relationships with their mother and it is very unusual to be out of touch for this long. Their whereabouts remain unknown and their case remains unsolved.
