Unknown. He was last seen in the back yard of his family's home on Taylor Avenue in Vineland at 1:00 p.m. on December 17, 1962. He was playing with his two-year-old sister and the family dog while his mother watched through the window from inside. She went to check on her other son and when she came back, William's sister was standing in the doorway, holding a plastic flower. She said a man had given it to her and had taken William. A search of the neighborhood found no sign of him. He has never been heard from again. His abduction is the oldest unsolved disappearance of a child under five in New Jersey state history.
