Unknown. John was last seen in the vicinity of the 400 block of Guy Park Avenue in Amsterdam, New York. Recently separated from his wife, he talked to his daughter in California on the night of his disappearance and told her he would leave the next morning to visit her. When his daughter did not hear from him for a month, she thought he was traveling, fishing, and vacationing across the country. He never arrived, and has never been seen again. Sapienza’s wife filled a power of attorney document that gave her control of her husband’s finances just five days before Sapienza’s car was found, approximately 30 days after his disappearance, at a grocery store parking lot in New Hartford, New York. He is missing under suspicious circumstances, and his case remains unsolved.
