Circumstances of Disappearance: |
Monica Bowie was kidnapped from
her parking deck on July 5, 2007 at approximately 11:14 pm at the
Berkshire at Lenox Apartments at 2124 Gables Drive NE in Atlanta,
Georgia. A maroon 2002 Mercury Sable seen leaving the scene was
located in Atlanta, abandoned and burned. On July 7, authorities arrested Jasper Keels (photo at right) and charged him with theft of the car. He had borrowed it from an acquaintance on July 4 and never returned it.
Bowie, originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was the owner of two businesses: Go2girls Promotions Inc., a hip-hop production company, and LaCoca Wear Clothing, a clothing boutique. She met with her lawer just hours before her disappearance; he says she was behaving normally and appeared to be in good spirits. Her case remains unsolved and foul play is suspected. |
