Identifying Characteristics: |
Hysterectomy scar, vertical from
navel to pubic line. Her ears are pierced; once in each ear. She has
a dark silver dollar sized, brown circular shaped birthmark below in
the left kneecap on shin. She also has very deep dimples in both
cheeks. Ruth also has a upper denture. |

Red, small sized half top w/ bare
midriff, Gloria Vanderbilt jeans, white Nike tennis shoes, brown
leather coat (mid length), carrying a brown leather purse w/saddle
bag flap. She was wearing diamond stud earrings. |

Circumstances of Disappearance: |
On June 29, 1986, Ruth Hoffman
went to a bar called the Poorhouse Salon to apply for a job. Ruth
returned to her home in the early morning of June 30th, by cab and in
hospital scrubs, not in her regular street clothes. Ruth had told her
daughter that she had been sexually assaulted at an unknown motel by
two men. Ruth then took a bath and left her apartment to confront the
two men she said committed the crime. Ruth has not been seen or heard
from since. Ruth has a chemical imbalance and suffers from
paranoid schizophrenia. She was taking prescription medication
(Lithium) at the time of her disappearance. She would sometimes have
problems with depression. |

There
is a $10,000 reward being offered. The Sund/Carrington
Memorial Reward Fund is offering $5,000. $5,000 will be administered
by the family of Ruth Hoffman. $2,000 of the reward is for
information that leads to the physical location of Ruth Hoffman.
There is a $3,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of a
suspect, if this case becomes a homicide. |
