Circumstances of Disappearance:
Unknown. Samuel was last seen in the Crater Lake National Park in Oregon on October 14, 2006 at approximately 4:00 p.m. He was hiking with his father when he ran ahead, and disappeared. He has not been seen since. An extensive search of the park showed no signs of him, and the local weather at the time was cold, wet and snowy. While he had camping experience, he had not been trained in wilderness survival and it is doubtful that he could have survived in the weather for very long without finding shelter. His family held a memorial service for him in 2006. His case remains unsolved.
Medical:
Boehlke suffers from Asperger's Syndrome, a form of autism. As a result of his condition, he has extreme reactions to bright lights and loud noises.
