Duckett (photo at right). Melinda told authorities she put her son to bed around 7:00 p.m., and when she went to check on him two hours later, he was missing. Several days after his disappearance they announced that his parents, Melinda and Joshua Duckett (photo at right) were the focal point of the investigation. They were in the process of a divorce and custody battle. Joshua Duckett cooperated with authorities, and passed a polygraph test. Melinda Duckett refused a polygraph and failed a voice stress test. Melinda told her Melinda Duckett's carattorney that she took her son and a shotgun to a shooting range on August 27, and became lost and drove around central Florida for eight hours. A photograph of Melinda's 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse is shown at right. Witnesses reported seeing her in Leesburg at the time she was supposedly lost. On September 8, Melinda was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot. She left two notes, neither of which disclosed any information as to what happened to Trenton. After her death, police officially named her as the prime and only suspect in Trenton's case. He remains missing and his case remains unsolved.
