She has slight scoliosis of the spine. She has an appendix scar on her abdomen, a small freckle birthmark under her left breast, and a small wart on the left side of her nose. She has pierced ears.
A red, white and blue sweatshirt with the word PONY written on the front; a 14-karat gold monogram signet ring ]with the initials "HAK"'; a 1/3-karat marquis-cut sapphire surrounded by diamonds with a white gold band and a possible matching necklace; a yellow-gold pinky ring with a round sapphire surrounded by two diamonds; and an analog-style watch with a black face and a diamond-shaped case with a tri-colored gold band consisting of yellow, white, and pink colors. She was possibly wearing small earrings and/or an opal ring.
Klug spoke on the phone from her home to a co-worker around 11:30 p.m. on May 20, 1986. She did not report to her workplace the next day, May 21st. The police searched her home and discovered that her dog and her vehicle were both at the house, as were almost all her personal belongings, including clothing, makeup and jewelry. The only items missing were her purse and a suitcase.
